Kenji Sawada is a Japanese singer and actor who has been at the forefront of the Japanese music scene since the 1960s. He made his debut as the vocalist of the group sounds band, The Tigers, in 1967. His charismatic stage performances captured the hearts of young people and defined an era.
After going solo, he released numerous hit songs, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s. His representative works include “Toki no Sugiyuku Mama ni,” “Katteni Shiyagare,” and “TOKIO,” which continue to be loved by many people today.
He has also been active as an actor, appearing in television dramas and films, and is highly regarded as a character actor. Even in recent years, he has continued his concert activities and celebrated the 50th anniversary of his solo debut in 2021. His energetic performances continue to inspire many fans.
